AI Voice Agents for Hotel Phone Calls (2026): 5 Options Compared

A blossoming bonsai tree on a grassy point above a still lake at dawn

For a hotel that wants the AI to finish bookings on the phone, HelloShift is my pick, because it publishes its price and says its AI books rooms and secures the card on the call. If you want a phone agent built and kept current for you, BonsAI Luxury does that, but it takes messages for staff rather than bookings.

I'm Iskander Nekkaz - Le Roux, the founder of BonsAI Luxury, an automation engineer and a Stanford alum.

It's 2 a.m. and the phone at the front desk rings. The night porter is helping someone at the door. An AI voice agent picks up, answers the caller and either finishes the job or passes it to staff. I compared five options on what the AI can finish on the call by itself, using only what each vendor says on its own website.

What does an AI voice agent do for a hotel?

It answers the hotel's phone when staff can't, after hours, during a rush or all the time. The simple ones answer common questions, such as check-in time, parking and the airport transfer, and take a message for everything else. The more complete ones read the property management system, quote live rates, book the room and take payment on the call. Most can also send a call summary to the team.

How did I rank them?

I gave each option one question. What can the AI finish on the call without a person? An option ranks higher when its own pages say it can quote availability, book a room or take payment by itself. I didn't test the products. Every fact comes from the vendor's own pages, read on 19 or 20 October 2026.

1. HelloShift

Best for: a hotel that wants the AI to book rooms on the phone at a price it can see.

HelloShift's AI Voice page says the AI answers calls around the clock in more than 100 languages and connects to more than 40 PMSs. It checks live room availability, presents room types and rates, and books the room on the call. It texts the caller a secure card link and stays on the line until the card is saved, so no card number is read aloud. Every call is recorded and transcribed in the inbox. Its pricing page includes AI Voice in Guest+, from $100 a month billed annually, and in Pro.

The catch. Every plan bills at least 40 rooms, so a 12-room hotel pays for 40. Your team sets it up and keeps it current.

2. Akia

Best for: a hotel that wants phone, text and OTA messages in one inbox, with booking on the call.

Akia's voice page says the AI picks up on the first ring, books rooms and takes payment during the call. It reads reservations from PMSs such as Mews, Cloudbeds, StayNTouch, Guesty and Hostaway. Its pricing page puts AI Voice, call transfers and call summaries on the Max plan, with dedicated support.

The catch. Akia doesn't publish prices. Every plan says to talk to sales.

3. Conduit

Best for: a property group that wants voice and chat agents in one system, or wants the vendor's team to run it.

Conduit's agents page says its agents answer calls with the guest's conversation history, and can check bookings, change reservations and collect payments through supported links. Its pricing page includes Voice AI for inbound and outbound calls in Messaging, from $18 per unit a month. Its Overwatch plan, custom priced, has Conduit's own 24/7 team run guest messages, with phone calls included.

The catch. Pricing is per unit, and the customer quotes on its pricing page come from rental managers.

4. Canary Technologies

Best for: a hotel or group that wants phone answering from the same vendor as its check-in and messaging.

Canary's AI Voice page says it handles every call to the hotel, trained for your property and brand. Canary says more than 20,000 hotels in over 125 countries use it.

The catch. The page I read doesn't say whether the AI books rooms or takes payment on the call. Prices are custom quotes.

5. BonsAI Luxury

Best for: a small hotel that wants a phone agent built and kept current for it, and is happy for staff to finish bookings.

BonsAI Luxury builds a phone agent around one property's approved facts, alongside its WhatsApp, website chat and email agent. The phone agent answers common questions from those facts in English or French. For anything else, it takes a message, reads the details back, accepts corrections and puts the call summary in the staff inbox. It never states a price, availability, booking or payment. After launch, BonsAI reads the conversations and fixes weak answers. Builds start from USD 1,500, after a free audit.

The catch. It doesn't book rooms, take payment or transfer calls yet. It's a new company with no published client results yet, and its phone agent is newer than its chat agent.

What should an AI voice agent never do?

It should never ask a caller to read a card number aloud. A texted secure link, like HelloShift describes, keeps the number out of the call. It should never confirm a booking, a price or a refund it can't check in a live record. When it doesn't know, it should take a message and say when someone will call back.

A phone agent that guesses a price at 2 a.m. costs more than a missed call.

What should you ask before you buy?

  1. Can the AI book a room on the call, or does it take a message?
  2. How does it take payment, and does any card number pass through the call?
  3. Which PMS does it read, and is yours on the list?
  4. Which languages does it speak on the phone?
  5. Who updates its answers when your rates, rooms or rules change?

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI voice agent for hotel phone calls?

If you want the AI to finish bookings on the call, HelloShift publishes its price and says its AI checks live availability, books rooms and secures the card by a texted link. Akia also says its AI books rooms and takes payment on the call, but it doesn't publish prices.

Can an AI voice agent book hotel rooms on the phone?

Some can. On pages checked on 19 and 20 October 2026, HelloShift and Akia said their AI books rooms on the call, and Conduit said its agents can change reservations through supported links. BonsAI Luxury's phone agent takes a message for staff instead.

How much does an AI voice agent for a hotel cost?

HelloShift includes AI Voice in its Guest+ plan, from $100 a month billed annually for up to 40 rooms. Conduit includes Voice AI in Messaging, from $18 per unit a month. BonsAI Luxury lists builds from USD 1,500 after a free audit. Akia and Canary didn't publish prices.

Is it safe to take card payments with an AI voice agent?

Ask how the card is taken. HelloShift says it texts the caller a secure card link and that card numbers never touch its servers, so no card number is read aloud on the call.

Which languages does the BonsAI Luxury phone agent speak?

English and French. It switches between the two to match the caller. For any other language, it says a fixed line.
