HiJiffy and Asksuite Alternatives for a Small Independent Hotel (2026)

If nobody at your small hotel has time to run HiJiffy or Asksuite, BonsAI Luxury is my pick, because it builds the AI and looks after it for you. If you need the phone answered too, look at Akia or Canary.
I'm Iskander Nekkaz - Le Roux, the founder of BonsAI Luxury, an automation engineer and a Stanford alum.
HiJiffy and Asksuite are two of the best-known guest messaging tools for hotels. Both are software, and on the pages I read, your team sets the answers and works the handovers. If you run a small independent hotel and nobody has time for that, or you need the phone answered too, this page compares five alternatives. Every fact comes from the vendor's own website.
What do HiJiffy and Asksuite do well?
HiJiffy publishes its prices, which most tools in this space don't. Plans start at €99 a month, based on the number of rooms, plus a €99 setup fee for each five properties. The Pro plan, from €159 a month, adds a generative AI chatbot in 132 languages. Email starts on Pro. WhatsApp and SMS come with Premium, from €319 a month.
Asksuite has an official WhatsApp integration. Reservation agents reply during business hours, and its AI assistant answers when they're off. It also sends WhatsApp campaigns and follow-ups.
Where does a small hotel feel the gap?
Both tools assume someone on your team runs them. HiJiffy says its AI handles most conversations and offers setup and support help, but on the pages I read, your team sets the answers and works the handovers. Asksuite pairs its AI with reservation agents, which suits a hotel that has a reservations team. Picture a 12-room hotel with three people on the desk. Nobody there has a spare hour a day for the inbox, and there's no reservations team. Neither tool describes AI phone answering on the pages I read.
The alternatives at a glance
This is my comparison. I compare on one test: who does the upkeep after launch. Check each vendor's own site.
| Option | Answers messages on | Answers phone calls | Who does the upkeep | Published price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HiJiffy | Website and social apps, WhatsApp on Premium | Not on the pages I read | Hotel team, with setup and support help | From €99 a month, plus setup |
| Asksuite | WhatsApp, website chat, Instagram, Messenger | Not on the pages I read | Hotel team, with AI covering off hours | Not published |
| BonsAI Luxury | WhatsApp, website chat, email | Yes | BonsAI builds it and fixes weak answers | From USD 1,500, one-time or monthly |
| Quinta (formerly Quicktext) | Live chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, WeChat | Not on the pages I read | A dedicated consultant looks after the hotel's data | Data service from $599 a month |
| Akia | SMS, WhatsApp, email, web chat, OTA messages | Yes, on the Max plan | Hotel team, with dedicated support on Max | Not published (talk to sales) |
| Canary Technologies | SMS, WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, web chat | Yes, with AI Voice | Hotel team, with an onboarding and training lead | Not published (custom quote) |
| Duve | SMS, WhatsApp and OTA messages on the Pro plan | Not on the page I read | Hotel team, with paid tailored onboarding | Not published (book a demo) |
BonsAI Luxury
Best for: a small hotel with nobody free to run a guest messaging tool.
BonsAI Luxury is a done-for-you service, not software your team runs. It builds an AI receptionist around one property's own facts and voice, on WhatsApp, website chat, email and the phone. It answers only from facts the property has approved and passes everything else to a person. After launch, BonsAI reads the conversations and fixes weak answers. Builds start from USD 1,500, after a free audit. It works worldwide, with a focus on Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.
The catch. It's a new company with no published client results yet. It runs in English and French only. It doesn't check live room availability yet, so it takes the request and passes it to staff. It doesn't pull OTA messages into one inbox.
Quinta (formerly Quicktext)
Best for: a hotel that wants someone at the vendor keeping its answers current.
Quinta's AI assistant, Velma, answers in 38 languages on live chat, Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram and WeChat. Its pricing page lists a data service from $599 a month, with a dedicated consultant assigned to the hotel.
The catch. That's the starting price for the data service. It's a bigger monthly bill than HiJiffy's first plan.
Akia
Best for: a hotel that wants the AI to answer the phone and take payment on the call.
Akia's AI answers SMS, WhatsApp, email, web chat and OTA messages in one inbox. Its top plan, Max, on the pricing page, adds AI Voice with call transfers and call summaries. Its voice page says the AI books rooms and takes payment during the call.
The catch. Akia doesn't publish prices. Every plan says to talk to sales.
Canary Technologies
Best for: a hotel or group that wants phone, messaging and check-in from one vendor.
Canary's pricing page lists a unified inbox across SMS, WhatsApp, LINE and WeChat. AI message replies start on its Advanced plan, and an AI website chat that answers around the clock comes with Pro. Its AI Voice says it handles every call to the hotel. Canary lists a dedicated onboarding and training lead.
The catch. Prices are custom quotes, and your team still runs the inbox.
Duve
Best for: a hotel that wants guest messaging inside a guest app with online check-in.
Duve's Pro plan adds a unified inbox, SMS and WhatsApp messages and OTA messaging to its guest app and online check-in.
The catch. Prices aren't shown on the page, and tailored onboarding is listed as included with additional charges.
Done for you, or software you run?
This is the real choice behind any switch. Software like HiJiffy, Asksuite, Akia, Canary and Duve gives your team the tools, and your team keeps the answers current. A done-for-you service like BonsAI Luxury does that upkeep for you. Quinta sits in between, with a consultant who looks after the hotel's data.
If someone on your team will open the inbox every morning, software is usually the cheaper path. If nobody will, the cheapest tool is the one that quietly goes stale.
Switching tools won't help if nobody keeps the new one up to date.
Who should stay with HiJiffy or Asksuite?
Stay with HiJiffy if your team already works its inbox and a published monthly price matters to you. Stay with Asksuite if you have a reservations team in business hours and want AI to cover the rest. In both cases, the gap is usually the answers, not the tool.
What should you ask before you switch?
- Who writes and updates the answers after launch?
- What happens when the AI doesn't know an answer at 11 p.m.?
- Does it answer the phone, or only messages?
- Which booking system does it read, and can it see live availability?
- What does WhatsApp itself charge on top? Meta charges per delivered template message, with some exceptions.
